4 February – Towamba River (canoeing/kayaking day event)

Distance: around 10  km

Grade: Very little walking involved – easy paddling if low winds

Terrain: Estuary

Meeting: Car park above Davidson Whaling Station

Time: 9.00 am

This year we are paddling up the lower Towamba River and back with a morning and afternoon tea stops on the way. We will get as far as possible on a rising tide before lunch  and then back to the mouth on the falling tide. The river passes through attractive forest and rural scenery.  Davidson Whaling Station turnoff is part way along Edrom Road and is signposted on the left.
