29 July - Tathra extended


Day event

Walk Coordinators: Marie Oakley and Mark Oakley

Meet: 9:30am at Tathra headland

Grade: Moderate

Distance: 12 km

Description: A circular walk along the coast south of Tathra returning through the bush, on walking track, fire trail, and formed streets (maybe just a little bit of bush also). An opportunity for refreshment at the Tathra Hotel at the conclusion.

15 July - Ben Boyd tower to Leatherjacket Bay

Walk Coordinators: Andrew Walker and Olga Walker

Meet: 9:00 at Pambula shops for car-pooling, then on to Ben Boyd Tower for 10:00 start

Grade: Easy

Distance: 9 km

Description: Northern tip of Light-to-Light Walk. At this time of year we have always seen Lyrebirds on this track; maybe they may not be so welcoming to a large group, but we’ll see..!




1 July - North of the Dam

Meet: 9.00am at Quaama General Store. Starting walk at the Riverview Homestead site.

Grade: Moderate/Hard

Distance: 9 km

Description: Terrain: Bush trail & bush

Meeting place: Quaama General Store 9.00am Starting walk at the Riverview Homestead site.

An interesting circular walk north of Brogo Dam visiting the northern shores and dam wall. Returning via a ridgeline with magnificent views of the mountains to the west and surrounds and really enormous granite boulders. There might be some rainforest too.

Meet: 9:30am at NP picnic area on Big Jack Mountain road , approx. 4 to 5 ks past Rocky Hall RFS, just past a low bridge.

Grade: Moderate/Hard

Distance: 8-10 km

Description: Grade: Moderate with some hard sections (steep)

Rock hopping along the upper reaches of the Towamba River then climbing out to visit some WW2 military encampment ruins.
